Gram flour pakora
Gram flour pakora is delicious South Indian deep fried snack. It is served as Tea time snack made with flour, spices, chillies, herbs and salt. Pakoras can be made with veggies, onions, paneer, and spinach. Pakoras can also be made with non-veg. Pakoras are not only a tea time snack.
It is the best combination with variety rice recipes like tomato rice, coconut rice, sambar rice, lemon rice and more. Pakoras are quick snack made in minutes. Even this pakoras can be made simply with nuts like peanuts and cashews. Recipes will be coming soon.
These deep fried snack is crispy and delicious. It can be made easily with simple ingredients. In my hometown, we tried different pakoras and Bajji with spinach. Vegetable pakora can be made with veggies like cauliflower, potato, cabbage and so on. Here goes the recipe of crunchy and delicious snack recipe..
Ingredients:
Gram flour -1 cup
Ajwain seeds-1/4 tsp
Hing/Asafoetida -1tsp
Chilly powder-1/2tsp
Baking soda -a pinch
Green chilies-2
Salt-as needed
Coriander leaves-few
Curry leaves-few
Big Onion-1
Water-1/2cup
Rice flour-1tbsp
Method:
- In a mixing bowl add gram flour, rice flour, hing, chilly powder, baking soda, ajwain seeds and salt.
- Mix all the dry ingredients. Add chopped onion, green chilies, curry leaves, coriander leaves. Sprinkle some water and mix everything to pakora consistency.
- Heat oil in a pan. Make bite sized pakoras and deep fry it. Cook on both sides till pakoras turn golden brown.
- Serve hot pakoras with green chutney or sauce.
