Egg paniyaaram


Paniyaram is one of famous South Indian breakfast recipes. Paniyaram is made with fermented rice and urad dal batter/Idly-dosa batter. 

Paniyaram is known as spicy dumplings which is round in shape. Here in this recipe spicy dumplings are made by adding eggs into it. Very soft and delicious protein rich hot dumplings.

Ingredients:
Rice batter-1 cup
Egg-1
Salt-a pinch

Method:

  • In a bowl add 2 laddle full of rice batter, cracked egg, salt and  mix well.
  • Heat the paniyaram pan and add some oil in each mold. Fill each mold with required batter and close the lid for 2 min.
  • Keep the burner in medium flame. Use a flipping stick to turn the spicy dumplings to cook on the other side.
  • After a minute use a spoon to take out the dumplings and transfer to a plate.
  • Make required amount of dumplings you need. 
  • Serve this paniyaram with spicy chutneys like tomato chutney, tomato garlic chutney, mint chutney or coconut chutney.

Variation:

  • Add shredded carrot, onion, green chilies, chopped coriander leaves, and add tadka into the batter and mix well. Tastes yummy with coconut chutney.
  • Add shredded and fried vegetables for making veggies-egg spicy dumplings.
  • Egg paniyaram with added cheese tastes good.
  • Use brown rice batter, Jowar batter or any multigrain batter instead of white rice batter.
