Beetroot Dosa || Pink Dosa
Dosa is a popular South Indian thin pancakes like crepe made with fermented rice batter. Normally rice dosas are made with rice, urad dal and fenugreek seeds which give taste to dosa. Dosas are very crispy and soft. It is easily digestible.
Beetroot dosa/Pink dosa is soft and delicious dosa made with beetroot puree and spices mixed with regular dosa batter.
Beetroot dosa is healthy and tastes good with any spicy chutney. Beetroot dosa is also made instantly without fermenting the batter. Here goes the simple, healthy and easy recipe of beetroot dosa..
Ingredients:
Brown rice/White rice batter-1 cup
Beetroot-1 cup(shredded)
Green chilies-2
Salt-as needed
Method:
- Peel and shred a beetroot and keep aside. In a mixer grinder add beetroot and green chilies and grind it to fine paste.
- In a bowl add required salt, beetroot paste and rice batter. Mix well. Check for dosa batter consistency. Add some water if needed.
- Heat dosa pan with enough heat. Add a laddle full of batter and pour in hot pan and give a thin spiral round. Add little oil in corners of dosa.
- Make crispy dosas and serve.
- Serve this healthy dosas with mint chutney, coconut chutney or spicy coriander chutney.
