Country Chicken Chukka || Chicken Varuval
Ingredients:
Chicken-1/2 kg
Sesame oil-50ml
Ginger-garlic paste-1tbsp
Small onions(shallots)-10
Green chilies-3
Chilly powder-1 tsp
Tomato-1/2
Turmeric-1tsp
Curry leaves-few
Coriander powder-1/2tbsp
Coriander leaves-few
Chicken varuval masala -1tbsp
Coriander seeds-1tbsp
Coconut slices-15
Salt-as needed
Method:
- First clean the chicken with turmeric and salt.
- Add some sesame oil in a pan and allow it to heat. Then add mustard seeds. When it splutters, add chopped onions, green-chilies, curry leaves and little salt. Sauté till onions get translucent.
- Add ginger-garlic paste, cleaned chicken, turmeric and chilly powder.
- Mix well and leave it to cook for 10 to 15 min.
- Now chicken cooked well. Then check for salt and add remaining masala powders one by one. Mix well.
- After adding masala powder adjust your burner to simmer. Close the lid and leave it for another 5min till oil separates from gravy.
- In a mixer jar add coriander seeds and grind for few seconds to split the coriander seeds.
- Add sliced coconut, coriander seeds and mix well. Add some chopped coriander leaves.
- Serve hot with rice, chapathi, idli and dosa. Very yummy recipe.
