Tomato Dosa || Tomato Adai Dosa
Dosa is a popular South Indian thin pancakes like crepe made with fermented rice batter. Normally rice dosas are made with rice, urad dal and fenugreek seeds which give taste to dosa. Mostly Rice dosas are very crispy and soft. It is easily digestible.
Dosa is healthy and rich in protein. There are many varieties of dosa recipes like masala dosa, Podi dosa, Plain rice dosa, millets dosa, Green moong dosa, Lobia dosa, Paruppu adai dosa and so on. Here in this recipe tomato dosa is made with rice, dal, spices, herbs, tomatoes and salt. Tomato dosa is rich in protein and vitamins. Try out this healthy and crispy dosa. Here goes the recipe..
Ingredients:
Ripe tomatoes-2
Idly rice-2 cups
Fennel seeds-1 tbsp
Yellow Moong dal-2 tbsp
Urad dal-1/4 cup
Salt- as needed
Red chillies-4
Curry leaves-1 string
Pearl onions-5
Method:
- Soak rice, urad dal, moong dal for 3 hrs.
- In a bowl add some warm water and soak the red chilies for sometime.
- In a mixer grinder, add soaked red chilies, pearl onions, curry leaves, and tomatoes one by one and grind for few minutes.
- Then add soaked rice, dal and grind to a coarse paste.
- Add required salt while grinding the batter. Make crispy dosas and serve with coconut chutney.
Note:
- Use sesame oil, ghee or groundnut oil in the sides of dosa for better taste.
- Serve dosas with coconut chutney or any green chutney.
